Hot pavement, sweaty everything and somewhere out there, a mosquito is planning its next move. Summer has its moments, sure, but if you’re anything like us, these July days are leaving you day dreaming of snow. Don’t fret, we’re here to cure your midsummer blues with sweet, cold memories. Check out five dreamy winter photos and videos that are basically a cold compress for your soul.

1. The Deepest Season

Beginning with a throwback to the deepest season in memory. Here Savannah Dayberry finds her zen during an early season storm back in 2022. Little did she know, Sierra would soon be buried by 685 inches of snow.

2. Cold Smoke in Avy Bowl

On a cold morning in early February, eight inches of snow fell above a firm, spring-like base. Josh Bull plumbed the depths in Avalanche Bowl. He found bottom, of course, but not before tasting some delicious cold smokeโ€”the first since the Christmas storms.

The best thing about a powder day at Sierra? Soft landings. Emma Dayberry floats among the pillows off of Upper Castle. Ground control to Major Emma: You’re cleared for liftoff.

4. Getting Loose in West Bowl

When Sierra finally opened back up after three days buried beneath that 7-foot Presidents’ Day storm, patrol was able to open the entire mountain. Jordan Nield found his line in West Bowl, laying down a smooth nose-butter 360 for the people on the lift.
