Parking Overview

Sierra-at-Tahoe is the closest major ski resort to Sacramento and the Bay Area, right off Highway 50. Sierra has 6 parking lots, labeled A through F, available for guests throughout the winter season. Please note: New for the 2026-27 Season, a parking reservation system will be implemented on weekends and holiday periods between December 19, 2026, and April 4, 2027, until 12PM. Reservations will be free for passholders and those with 4+ people in a car.

Parking reservations

New for the 2026/27 winter season, Sierra-at-Tahoe will be implementing parking reservations on weekends and holiday periods, free for passholders and for those with 4+ people in a car. This comes after feedback from guests and our local community regarding the impacts of its first-come, first-served parking model on high-volume days. By implementing parking reservations, the program will give guests peace of mind that parking will be available before they leave their homes, while helping reduce traffic impacts and carbon emissions.

Parking reservations for non-passholders will be $25/day, though certain programs, such as Ski and Ride School, may qualify for discounted reservations. More information on reservations will be released in Fall 2026.

FRee reservations for:

Season Passholders

It pays to be a passholder. Sierra Passholders can make up to 4 free parking reservations at a time on days their pass is valid. Once they have used one of their reservations, they can reserve an additional date for a rolling total of 4 active reservations.

Carpooling

Rally your crew, split the gas + enjoy the drive! As part of an effort to incentivize carpooling to reduce carbon emissions, parking reservations will be FREE for cars with 4 or more people inside. This will be validated upon arrival.

Afternoons

If you know you know… Afternoon laps are some of the best. Parking reservations will not be required after 12PM, meaning it’s free to cruise up + shred during reservation periods after noon.
Afternoon parking is subject to availability.

Why did Sierra adopt a parking reservation system?
