Teams Information + FAQs

Start Time

Teams are on-snow from 9AM – 3PM, on Thursdays + Weekends, with a break for lunch. We recommend checking in at 8:45AM so athletes are ready for the warm-up run.

Coach Consistency

Each team benefits from dedicated coaches on both Saturdays + Sundays, ensuring consistent guidance and long-term skill development.

Is lunch included?

No, lunch is not included—please pack a nutritious lunch + snacks or provide lunch money. Coaches will not be available to eat lunch with your athletes. Please talk to your coach in the morning to see when to meet your athlete to take them for lunch, if needed.

If you’d like your athlete to manage their own lunch + return independently, please ask our coaches to complete our “Lunch Waiver.”

Drop off + Pick Up

The program runs from 9 AM – 3 PM. We recommend checking in at 8:45AM so athletes are ready for the warm-up run.
Drop off and pick up are on-snow in front of the Solstice Plaza, next to the Easy Rider Chairlift. Look for the flags.

Does my child have to compete if they are on the team?

Competing is optional; athletes are not required to compete.

What kind of certifications do coaches have?

All teams are led by PSIA, USSA or USASA-certified instructors (or international equivalent) trained to coach competitive skiers + snowboarders. Coaches travel to events when 5+ athletes are participating.

Does my Teams tuition cover competition fees/memberships?

Your fees to join the Sierra Competition Teams do not cover Far West/USSA/USASA membership, race fees, travel costs or lift tickets at other resorts.
