Most accommodations in South Lake Tahoe that can be rented on a monthly basis are quite modest and simple. Some are hotel-style rooms with kitchenettes while some only have a microwave and refrigerator. A limited number of apartments can also be rented month-to-month, though these can be significantly higher cost. If you mention that you are an employee coming to work at Sierra-at-Tahoe, most of the listed properties will offer a discount. The more people who share a room, the lower the cost per person. 

You can expect to pay $500-$1,000 per month, per person. Some places will not sign leases for less than 6 months so be sure to explain that you are here on a Work Visa and are only looking for roughly 5 months of stay time.
