Welcome to the Sierra-at-Tahoe Adaptive Program! We are proud to offer adaptive lessons for both physical and intellectual disabilities. We have PSIA/AASI certified instructors in both children and adult lessons, skiing and snowboarding. Our mission is to help disabled skiers + snowboarders develop new skills and build self-confidence. We strive to create an atmosphere which produces positive physical, psychological and therapeutic results.
The program is dedicated to adaptive skiing and snowboarding for individuals with disabilities and special needs. Our specially trained instructors, who are Professional Ski Instructors of America/American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA/AASI) certified in adaptive snowboard and ski techniques, provide one-on-one private lessons so you can expect highly personalized training for your individualized needs.
We serve students of all ages who have a variety of disabilities.

Lesson Types
Sierra’s Adaptive PSIA/AASI-Certified instructors are trained to teach in the following lesson types:

- Skiing or Snowboard Stand Up
Adaptive Lesson Rates
An adaptive lesson is private instruction. A valid lift ticket or season pass, and equipment are required. See discounted prices below.

Things to Know
- Please note that these lessons come with highly qualified instructors, and have a limited availability. These lesson request forms must be filled out at least 72 hours before the lesson start date.
- We recommend you arrive one hour before your lesson time to allow for ample time for the check-in process.
- Dress appropriately for the weather. Layers are best.
- Be sure you have eye protection (goggles for snowy days and sunglasses for sunny days).
- Hats, gloves, sunscreen and other items you might forget are available at the Sierra Mt. Sports Shop .

Sierra-at-Tahoe has joined Ikon Pass for the 2024/25 season, offering even more Tahoe access to Ikon Pass holders.
