Avy Dog Demo Days

Possessing skills honed through highly-specialized training, Avalanche Rescue Dogs are invaluable members of our Search and Rescue teams. These furry friends can search out an entire hectare of avalanche terrain in only 30 minutes, which would take a human four hours to cover! 

Join us in meeting the pups (yay!) while a member of our Patrol team talks about our Avalanche Dog program, the role these adorable creatures + their handlers have at Sierra, and the training that goes into getting a dog trained + validated. We will also demonstrate how the dogs find an avalanche victim.

Not only is this an opportunity for Ski Patrol Pups to show off, but it's a good opportunity for the public to get involved through fundraising! Avy Dog shirts will be available to purchase + Patrol will distribute prized dog cards. Or, you can donate directly here! All the money collected will go towards training our slobbery staff! 

Meet at 10AM at the top of West Bowl for an hour-long talk + demonstration.
