Keep Sierra Clean Day Recap
We at Sierra-at-Tahoe are strong advocates of protecting the environment so it’s there to enjoy for the next generation of shredders. The annual Keep Sierra Clean Day is a chance to make sure of that by giving back to the mountain we love. 300 volunteers came up this past Sunday to bask in the sunshine, collect some interesting finds and chow down in the Solstice Plaza.
Groups like the Buddy Werner Youth Ski League, Boy Scouts and local high school students teamed up with our volunteers to collect 3,480+ lbs. of trash and other debris leftover from last season’s record snowfall . Items included a massive 200 lb. chain, a 90’s-era snowboard, and a couple of cell phones!
After serving up meals in the Solstice Plaza, prizes were awarded for the biggest haul, best teamwork, and most unique find. With Keep Sierra Clean Day comes snow close behind (keep those snow dances up), so here’s to another great season ahead!
