FRI MAR 28, 5:36AM:

Good morning, Sierra!

Here’s your mountain conditions report for Friday, March 28th. [PDF attached]

Widespread freezing fog is reported at higher elevations on the drive up to Sierra this morning, particularly over the summit and coming up Sierra rd, so pay attention and keep in mind that the road surface may be slick even if chain control is not active.

The forecast is calling for a break in the precipitation this morning, leaving us with around an inch of new snow before it starts up again this afternoon. Daytime accumulation between 1-2 inches is predicted.

Today’s high temperature is expected to be around 38F under mostly cloudy skies, with SW wind 7-10mph, gusting up to 24mph, possibly higher along the ridge line, with the potential to impact planned lift operations.

With above-freezing temperatures for most of the night, and a quick freeze before dawn, the snow should be nice today – firmish but not frozen in the morning, softening slightly as the day goes on. I’d recommend planning for another chilly day, so layer up and expect the turns to be smooth and fast.

Don’t forget to wear your team’s jersey today for our March Madness Dress-Up Day: “Rep + Ride”. Today is the last dress up day of the season, so be sure to check in with guest services to be entered into the raffle!

Reminder, we’re offering $70 PLAY Days Lift Tickets for different industries Tuesday through Friday. Today being friday, College students are invited to Sierra to take advantage of these deeply discounted ticket prices. A current college ID or transcript is required.

And don’t miss the Sierra Playgrounds party – it's going off all day tomorrow, with a party in the park and product demos from dragon, then a team autograph signing session with the Dragon team, wrapping up with an apres party in the Sierra Pub. DJ’s and Live music will keep the vibes pumping all day.

Have fun out there!

-Mike
